Council chief tuned in to better health

New council leader, Jean Stretton
Council leader Jean Stretton is supporting a campaign which lets the public have their say on how Greater Manchester tackles its biggest health and social care issues.
Councillor Stretton has encouraged residents to share their struggles and successes in making healthy lifestyle choices as Greater Manchester prepares to take responsibility for a £6billion health and social care budget.
The results of the Taking Charge Together campaign — launched last month — will help shape health and social care plans across Greater Manchester for the next five years.
Manchester radio station Key103 held a community roadshow event in Oldham town centre this week to support the campaign and Councillor Stretton helped out as the public had their say. The feedback will be used to help health and social care bosses tackle some of the worst health outcomes in the country.
