MOST TV presenters would struggle to carry off 6in spiked heels and a peroxide blond Mohican.
But not Limeside’s Paul Burgess. They have quickly become the garish trademarks of the Oldham-based director and drama workshop leader, who is fronting a magazine show, “Now We’re Talking” on the “That’s Manchester” channel on Freeview.
Former drag artist Paul (46) took over the show from previous host, Manchester radio presenter Paul Davies, after appearing as a guest a couple of times.
“I asked if there were any opportunities on the show, went for a screen test and got the job,” said Paul, founder, director and actor with Pink Triangle Theatre and now involved with Performance Plaza in Failsworth.
“The hair and heels seem to have made quite an impact with people, as I’ve started to be recognised all over the place! I’m loving it. Anyone who lives in the Greater Manchester and has an opinion is welcome on the show.”
You can watch Paul on “Now We’re Talking” on That’s Manchester, Freeview channel 8.
