Blaze causes M62 delays
Date published: 14 March 2016
A coach fire on the M62 caused delays on the M62 near Saddleworth at 11.30am yesterday.
Lanes were closed causing delays on the westbound carriageway because of smoke billowing from the 40-seater coach travelling from Leeds to Manchester.
The vehicle pulled over on to the hard shoulder and the passengers, including adults and children, were evacuated. Fire crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze and all lanes were open shortly before 1.30pm.
