POLICE are investigating after an elderly couple were robbed in their Royton home by a woman who asked to use their toilet.
The incident happened at around 1.30pm on March 6 when the couple answered the door at their home in Coral Mews. After asking to use the bathroom, the woman pushed her way into the house and used the bathroom before stealing the wife’s handbag from the lounge. The husband tried to stop her but was pushed to the floor.
The attacker is described as white, in her mid-20s, with thin features and short dark hair. She wore a dark felt cap and a black mid-length coat and jeans.
Det-Con Kelly Bragg said: “The victims are very elderly and are understandably extremely distressed, particularly as they were just trying to help the woman.
“he victims weren’t badly hurt, but preying on an elderly couple this way is a despicable act that has left the local community outraged.”
