Armed woman raids shop

TARGETED . . . the armed robber struck at the Abbey Hills Mini Market
A gun-wielding woman robbed an Oldham mini-market.
Police have revealed she struck at the shop in Abbey hills Road on the morning of March 5, threatening staff with a black handgun before stealing cash from the till .
Police are appealing for witnesses and for information on the woman, who is described as white, 5ft 3in to 5ft 4in tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark grey coat with the hood up.
Det Con Colette Wilkinson, of Oldham police, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the shop assistant who was faced with a woman brandishing a gun. Fortunately he was uninjured, but that should take nothing away from the severity of this crime.”
Abbas Syed, manager of Abbey Hills Local Shopper next door, described how locals were left shocked by the incident: “Everybody was was shaken up, everybody thought we had been robbed.
“We are next door. I only wish we could do something.”
