SADDLEWORTH has been named in the list of the best places to live in Britain by the Sunday Times.
The survey, published yesterday, combines data and statistics such as crime rates, house prices and school performance with the expertise of Sunday Times writers.
Saddleworth was one of 12 places in the North-West to make the the list, with Whalley in Lancashire crowned best in the region.
Locations were based on factors such as quality of life and desirable features such as positive community spirit, good shops and services and attractive outdoor spaces.
Home editor Helen Davies said: “Each place truly deserves its inclusion on the list, as we carefully consider each one to produce a truly authoritative guide.”
