OLDHAM’S Bierkeller is to inject some laughter into the town’s nightlife tonight with a new comedy club.
The first Belly Laughs club kickstarts the Easter Bank Holiday weekend tonight, after which the club will run on the fourth Thursday of each month.
Comedians will be on stage from 8.30pm-11pm, followed by music. Compere for the launch event is North West comedy favourite Steve Harris, a finalist in the BBC New Comedy awards and Channel 4’s “So You Think You’re Funny”.
The launch night line-up also includes Manchester’s Dan Nightingale and musical comedian Jonny Awsum.
Managing director of Tokyo Industries Aaron Mellor said: “In recent years there’s not always been all that much to laugh about round here, but we’re here to change all that and put the smile back on Oldham folks’ faces.
