£400,000 extension grand opening
Date published: 30 March 2016
CELEBRATIONS will take place this weekend as the Indian Association of Oldham opens a new extension to its Hathershaw community centre after five years of hard work and fund-raising.
The new £400,000 annex at the Schofield Street centre will be unveiled on Sunday with a week-long programme of events.
Guests from India, including spiritual leader Swami Narayancharandas Ji and other accompanying holy men, have been invited to attend.
The Indian Association paid for the entire project and even saved around £100,000 by doing some of the work themselves.
