Power fault fixed after blackouts
Date published: 01 April 2016
Residents have suffered intermittent power cuts for the past two weeks around Denbydale Way in Royton.
The most recent was on Thursday, affecting around 30 customers. Residents woke up to darkness and appliance problems as power went off several times.
Engineers discovered and repaired an intermittent underground cable fault, which was later repaired.
One resident said her home had suffered at least a dozen power cuts in two weeks, one lasting four hours.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “The nature of these faults makes them very difficult to identify.”
