Hayley and co cast an eye over Dogs Trust

FORMER Coronation Street and Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon is used to taking the “lead” role and she was all “Hart” when she visited homeless hounds at Dogs Trust Manchester.

Hayley, in Manchester as Roxie Hart in the hit musical Chicago, took time out from rehearsals to visit the rehoming centre.

The dog-loving actress and Dog’s Trust supporter took with her fellow “Chicago” cast members and her Hollyoaks actor boyfriend Joe Tracini.

As well as meeting some of the 50 homeless hounds waiting for their forever homes, they talked to staff about dog welfare and what it takes to be a responsible dog owner.

Hayley, who won the fifth series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, said it was joy to return to Dogs Trust: “It’s always so fantastic to visit, to meet the dogs and see first-hand the incredible work the team do.

“My family rehomed Frankie, a pug-terrier cross, from the centre last year. He’s fitted in perfectly and we now couldn’t imagine life without him.”
