Power cut hits homes

MORE than 1,700 homes in Saddleworth were left without electricity this morning following a power cut.
Electricity North West confirmed that 1,732 homes in the OL3 postcode, including Uppermill, Greenfield and Diggle, were affected by the power cut, which began at around 5am.
The high voltage fault was due to damaged equipment and power was restored to most properties shortly after 6.30am.
