The museum’s inflatable alter-ego
FORGET going to the museum – the museum’s coming to you!
Manchester Museum, which is part of the University of Manchester, launched the UK’s first inflatable museum today, which will tour school halls all over Greater Manchester.
Developed with stage designers and sound artists, the inflatable version of the museum incorporates a performance area, activity spaces and high quality projection and audio equipment.
The project is part of the university’s “widening participation” strategy to connect young people from some of Greater Manchester’s most disadvantaged areas to the museum’s collection.
