POST - still in the box - has been stolen from Butterworth Lane, Chadderton
YET another post box has been stolen in Chadderton.
This time thieves struck at Butterworth Lane towards Broadway. Peter Burke, who lives nearby, contacted the Chronicle when found the postbox had gone.
The Chronicle earlier reported how a box from Queens Road in Chadderton had been stolen in late March.
This was the latest in a spate of post box thefts. Three boxes in Saddleworth and two in Mossley were stolen earlier this year, while in Shaw there was an attempted theft, which forced emoval of the box.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We can confirm that a postbox in Butterworth Lane, Chadderton, has been stolen. We treat all theft of mail and of postboxes extremely seriously and if anyone has any information about this theft, they should contact the police immediately.”
