Woodhouses School rocking
GUITARS at the ready – pupils at Woodhouses Primary rocked their way up the times table with a brand new mathematical challenge.
Youngsters at the primary in Ashton Road had a ‘rockin’ start to learning their times table recently when pupils and teachers dressed up in their rockiest outfit to use the online tool Times Table Rockstars.
The tool allows children to learn their times tables in a fun way with each child given their own rock star avatar and rock star name and youngsters able to play either on their own or against others from across the country.
By getting their times tables right, pupils can earn gold coins to spend on improving their avatars with the newest guitars, hair dos and clothes.
Dena Mulligan, maths lead, said: “The children love it, with some answering over 1000 questions correctly in the first weekend alone!”
