Dancers dazzle

THESE dancers are celebrating after their fancy footwork earned them some national awards.

The Madd! For Dance school, based in Shaw, came away with eight trophies at the International Dance Teachers Association competition in Blackpool.

Among the winners were sisters Amy and Jessica Edwards.

Amy (15) was the Latin winner in the 13-15 girl/boy category, and in ballroom she came third.

Jessica (11) won the Latin under 13 category, and was also the ballroom under 13 winner.

Proud mum Alison Edwards, who lives in Delph, said: “It’s amazing. It’s such an achievement for the school.”

In total there were 36 competitors at the competition in Blackpool.
