Crews called to late night grass fire on moorland

FIREFIGHTERS from Oldham helped tackle a large grass fire on moorland last night.

One pump from Oldham joined five others from different areas as fire crews went to tackle the blaze at Carrbrook, Stalybridge, which created dramatic scenes on Sunday evening.

Firefighters managed to get the fire under control before midnight.

Manchester Fire said last night: “Firefighters have the moorland fire under control, but advise local residents to keep windows and doors closed.”
