FOOTBALLER Ched Evans was expected to discover the date for his new rape trial later today.
The former Wales international was originally convicted in 2012 of raping a woman but the conviction was later quashed in the Court of Appeal.
The latest hearing in the case is due to be held at Mold Crown Court, with High Court Judge Mrs Justice Nicola Davies appearing via video link from Cardiff Crown Court.
The former Sheffield United, Manchester City and Norwich player was released from jail in October, 2014, after serving half of his five-year term.
His case was referred to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission, with the conviction quashed last month.
Evans, 27, who has not played professional football since his release from prison, has always denied raping the woman.
