Injured schoolboy pulled from canal

A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after being pulled from the Rochdale Canal in Middleton yesterday evening.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics and fire crews from Heywood and Blackley alongside a water incident unit and technical response unit were called to the canal at Boarshaw Clough Way shortly after 8pm after reports that a schoolboy had fallen into the water.
A 13-year-old boy was pulled from the canal unconscious and was treated by paramedics for cardiac arrest.
He was resuscitated and taken to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
