YOUNGSTERS, staff and volunteers will set off to walk the 44-mile challenge route to raise money for Mahdlo
STAFF at a Manchester firm are gearing up for a 44-mile walk in aid of Mahdlo.
The team at Palatine Private Equity, in the city centre, have committed to the King Cotton Challenge this Saturday in order to raise funds to support the Egerton Street youth zone.
So far the company, which sponsors Mahdlo, has raised over £3,000 of the £4,000 target.
Taking part in the challenge is James Winterbottom, the investment director at Palatine.
He said: "I don't do much walking, this is the first challenge for me. Some of the team have been doing plenty of training.
"They're going on long walks, going out individually as well, clocking up quite a few miles.
"We're quite a people and culture focused business and I think Mahdlo resonates with that. Providing young people with this engagement will only benefit them later on in life."
The walk will start in Chadderton and continue along the canal network finishing in Runcorn. It will be completed in a day, taking approximately 14 hours.
