ENQUIRIES are continuing after a car crashed into and destroyed a sign in Oldham on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Abbey Hills Road, at the junction with Roundthorn Road shortly before 3pm to reports that a silver Ford Focus Zetec had collided with a give way sign and was now blocking the road.
Firefighters attended to ensure the vehicle was safe after reports that the vehicle was "smoking" and it was moved from the junction.
The driver and the passengers in the vehicle made off from the scene and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
