Tom Bebbington and girlfriend were assaulted and suffered a broken ankle each.
THREE teenagers have been arrested and bailed in connection with a brutal robbery which left a man and woman with broken ankles in Oldham.
Tom Bebbington (45) suffered a bleed on the brain and a broken right ankle, while girlfriend Emma Roughley (43) had to have pins and plates fitted into her left ankle as a result of the attack on Huddersfield Road, Oldham, on July 4.
The couple were returning home after a quiet evening in a pub at around 12.20am when they were approached by a group of youths.
Both were forced to the ground and assaulted by members of the group, which was made up of boys and girls, before their phones and money was taken from them and the youths fled the scene.
Recovering
A 15-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year old boy were arrested on suspicion of personal robbery and have been bailed until September 10.
Detective Inspector Mark McDowall said: "The man is recovering at home and the woman is still in hospital.
"They were lucky that their injuries were not even more serious. We would like to thank the public for their help with this appeal and would urge anybody that may have more information come forward."
