TEMPERATURES soared in Oldham this week.
Forecasters confirmed that Tuesday was the hottest day of the year so far.
Residents making the most of the mini heatwave were glad for the shade provided by trees to escape from the 30C sizzler.
Youngsters sitting in Chadderton Hall Park resorted to using plastic water jugs to shower each other with a refreshing cold splash, while in Foxdenton Park, Macie Timlin (4) had a great day riding on her scooter.
However, most of the UK then had to brace itself for flash floods with thunderstorms rolling in.
