Appeal for witnesses to robbery

POLICE are appealing for information after masked men armed with a sledgehammer and a machete robbed a Royton travel agents yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called to Co-Op Travel on Rochdale Road shortly after 1.30pm to reports of an armed robbery.
Three men wearing balaclavas, one armed with a sledgehammer and another with a machete, burst into the store and demanded money.
The offenders used the sledgehammer to access an office before stealing thousands of pounds in cash and fleeing the scene in a black Ford Focus which was later recovered.
