HEAD Kevin Sartain receives a certificate from Konnie Huq
AN INDEPENDENT Rochdale school was a finalist at the Education Business Awards in London.
Beech House was one of four schools commended as runners up in the Sports Award category won by Ellesmere College, Shropshire.
Headmaster Kevin Sartain was presented with a certificate by former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq. Last year the school was also a runner up in the Outstanding Progress category of the awards.
There are 21 categories in the awards which are staged by the magazine Education Business.
Publisher Karen Hopps said: "It is great to see so many people come together to celebrate the great work of the education sector, from teachers, to school business managers, right through to catering staff.
"I would like to congratulate all of the well deserved winners, but also those commended for their fantastic contributions."
