Dog saved from hot car
POLICE officers were forced to smash a car window to rescue a distressed dog from a hot vehicle in Shaw yesterday.
The RSPCA and police were called due to a concern for the dog's health after it was discovered locked in a car on Lyon Street, Shaw, as the temperatures rose shortly before midday.
The dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, made a full recovery but was seized following treatment.
The vehicle was also seized for no tax and insurance.
