OLDHAM Islamic College is celebrating its first set of A-level results.
A total of 13 students sat A-levels at the private Union Street college as part of its five-year Islamic scholarship programme which leads to a degree in Arabic and Islamic theology/law.
The overall pass rate for Arabic, religious studies and critical thinking A-levels was 86 per cent - with a 100 per cent A to C grades in Arabic.
The college was set up two years ago and has 200 students. It says that it is rare in offering students the chance to take A-levels alongside Islamic studies.
