Park & ride work well under way

WORK on the new park and ride facility as part of the Prince's Gate development has moved up a gear.
The car park, on land between Beaver Street and Wallshaw Street, is well under way following a land swap deal between Oldham Council and Transport for Greater Manchester to provide 254 spaces for commuters.
The two-storey and ground-level facility will offer the same parking capacity as the current site, which is earmarked for the Princes Gate development's anchor tenant M&S.
The "gamechanger" eastern gateway redevelopment scheme will offer 700 parking spaces in total, including 200 underground bays at M&S and a further 250 adjoining the planned supermarket on the former RSPCA/Roscoe Mill site.
