POLICE are investigating after a lit firework was pushed through the letterbox of a home in Oldham on Wednesday.
The home owner of the address, on Latimer Street, heard a loud bang and managed to put out the firework with water.
There were no reports of any injuries and the firework caused only minor damage to the property.
A statement on the GMP Oldham Facebook page said: "Although it only caused minor damage it had the potential to be a very serious incident indeed."
Police are treating the incident as arson.
