MOTORWAY queues stretched for miles after a lorry overturned and shed its load of rocks on the M60 near Oldham yesterday.
Police temporarily stopped traffic on the anticlockwise stretch between J21 (Chadderton) and J20 (Higher Blackley) shortly after 11am and debris was removed from the carriageway.
Two lanes remained closed for over an hour, to allow clean up work to be completed and the vehicle to be recovered.
Traffic coming from Ashton towards Prestwich was severely affected for several hours until all lanes reopened at around 2.30pm
