THE wait is almost over ... workmen are busy putting the finishing touches to transforming Oldham's old town hall into a cinema complex.
As revealed by the Chronicle, the Odeon cinema and surrounding restaurants will open on Friday, October 21.
It kicks-off a celebratory weekend boasting a wide range of family activities, music, attractions and performances with a cinematic theme.
Work to convert the historic Grade II-listed building into a seven-screen Odeon cinema and restaurant complex featuring Costa Coffee, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Loungers and Nando's with more to come - taking painstaking efforts to protect its heritage and beauty - is now almost complete.
