MORE than 70 homes in Chadderton were left without power after an explosion in an electricity sub station at 1.30pm yesterday.
Electricity North West confirmed the small blast was due to a fault in the transformer device at Healds Green, leaving homes in Cragg Road without electricity.
Engineers had to re-route electricity from other parts of the network before restoring power around an hour later.
