OLDHAM RL pushed Kingstone Press Championship high-fliers Hull KR all the way at Bower Fold.
Scott Naylor's side led by two points at the half-way mark, before succumbing to the in-form East Yorkshire outfit in the second period.
Joe Burke, Dave Hewitt, Sam Wood and Scott Leatherbarrow dived in for the Roughyeds, with the latter kicking four goals as the home side gave the leaders a fright.
Joe Wardhill and Ryan Shaw scored two tries apiece for KR. Shaun Lunt and Jordan Abdull also went over, while Jamie Ellis landed four goals.
