You've been framed! No fun at the Park for Beech

ROUND nine of the National Superstock 1000cc Championship at Cadwell Park proved to be a frustrating one for Moorside motorcyclist Ashley Beech.

Mechanical issues with his bike meant he was forced to pull out of race day at a late stage.

Beech and his team had attended a test day at the Lincolnshire circuit the day before the main event in an attempt to cure the brake problems that have plagued him recently, but despite making progress, unfortunately he took a tumble into the gravel.

Beech was unhurt in the crash and initially his BMW S1000RR race bike seemed to have suffered just superficial damage to handle bars, foot pegs and a dented petrol tank.

However, this was not the case as he soon found out during the practice sessions when the bike felt unstable and the team suspected that the frame may have been bent.

Short of time to check and fix the problem, Beech was forced to qualify on the ill-handling bike to make sure he was able to start the race day.

He struggled with the poor handling in the corners and could only managed 20th place and a start on row seven of the grid.

Overnight, though, after more work on the frame by the technicians, the bike was deemed unfit and too unsafe to ride so Beech was forced to pull out of the race. He will hopefully return to action in the next round at Silverstone in three weeks' time.
