TONGE'S Steve Copeland landed one of the biggest prizes in crown green bowls when he beat Winsford's Glynn Cookson 31-26 in the final of the Hill Crest Classic at Sowerby Bridge.
Copeland, who picked up £1,400, beat Gary Ellis 31-24 in the semis, while Cookson defeated James Wilcox 31-21. Oldham's Graeme Wilson lost 31-25 to Cookson in the last eight.
