Rachel fails in Open bid

LOCAL golfer Rachel Connor fell at the final hurdle in her attempt to play in Ricoh British Women’s Open at Sunningdale starting tomorrow.
The 18-year-old from Royton shot a disappointing four-over-par 77 in the final qualifier at The Berkshire.
Had amateur Rachel, who had already come negotiated one qualifying round, won through she would have been taking on some of the world’s top professional players who will be battling for a prize fund of over £1million.
