MANCHESTER Phoenix will open their 2008/09 bmibaby Elite Ice Hockey League campaign on the road to the new-look Hull Stingrays.
They travel to Rich Strachanís tough no-nonsense side on Saturday September 6 before facing Newcastle Vipers in Altrincham a day later.
The 54-game league season will see five Saturday games with 6.30pm face-off times, two on a Thursday and the others at the traditional Sunday time of 5.30pm.
In the group stages of the Challenge Cup, Phoenix will pit their wits against Sheffield, Belfast, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Hull Stingrays.
Phoenix still have one home game against Coventry Blaze to squeeze into the calendar as well as one more away trip to Edinburgh.
