Lakeside aim for darters
Date published: 05 August 2008
THE most famous stage in darts — Lakeside — is the goal for Oldham as they take part in the Northern finals of the champion of champions at Billingham, Cleveland, on Sunday.
Oldham go forward as champions of the Lancashire/GMC Premier League to face five other victorious town teams looking to use the North-East as a stepping stone to the national finals next weekend.
For the last three years Oldham have lost in the Northern final to Yorkshire, but the Tykes this time have to field a genuine town side and not their strong county side following a tightening of competition rules.
