LOCAL company Leesfield Developments has joined forces with the Chronicle to back the 2008/09 Star Man award.
Leesfield – specialists in windows, conservatories, kitchens and building work – will make a donation of £600 to the Athletic player who earns most Chronicle man of the match awards over the course of the season.
The prize is then donated to a good cause of the winner’s choice. Last term, Mark Allott, selected a children’s health charity.
Leesfield also support the Rochdale Road End at Athletic, and spokesman Eddy Benedek said: “We are pleased to further develop our ties with events at Boundary Park by sponsoring the Chronicle Star Man award.
“This is a popular award which will also help a local charity to benefit from the overall winner’s donation of his £600 prize at the end of the season.”
