United set sights on Berbatov

MANCHESTER United are closing in on Dimitar Berbatov, according to reports today.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker, a year-long target of the Old Trafford outfit, could cost £25million.
United are hoping to unveil Berbatov in time for Sunday’s Premier League opener at home to Newcastle United.
MANCHESTER City manager Mark Hughes has dismissed suggestions he could resign after less than three months at the club.
Hughes was reported to be on the brink of quitting Eastlands due to concern over his control on transfers, and at a time when owner Thaksin Shinawatra’s future appears unclear.
But the former Blackburn Rovers manager said: “There have been a lot of rumours flying around but I am not going anywhere and I don’t anticipate going anywhere.”
