Lancs miss out on title

CENTRAL Lancs and Pennines' hopes of landing a fourth successive British Parks Championship were dashed yesterday.

Despite outstanding performances by several local players in the home leg at Crompton, Central went down 417-409 (16-15) to East Midlands, who will take on South Yorkshire in next month's final.

Tonge's Colin Lane, Steve Copeland and Mark Dwayre all won at Crompton, along with Springbank's Alan Hodson and Royton's Barry Kitson.
