MANCHESTER City face an anxious wait before learning the severity of the shoulder injury Micah Richards sustained in yesterday’s 3–1 win at Sunderland, writes TONY BUGBY.
The 20-year-old did not reappear for the second half after receiving a painful blow to the joint and was forced to withdraw from the England squads which were named last night.
“Micah will have a scan and hopefully he has not damaged the cartilage in his shoulder,” explained manager Mark Hughes, who has completed two more signings.
Right-back Pablo Zabaleta, an Olympic Games gold medalist with Argentina, has been bought from Spanish club Espanyol for a fee of around £6.5million.
Glauber Berti, capped once at full international level by Brazil, is a central defender signed on a season-long contract from German second division side FC Nuremberg.
