OLDHAM’S rugby league players take on Doncaster for a place in National League One on Sunday with the latest betting suggesting a nailbiting encounter.

Some bookmakers have Oldham slight favourites to win the League Two Grand Final, but Skybet go 5-6 the pair to come out on top at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The two sides have beaten each other this season and Doncaster won the most recent encounter at Boundary Park.

Stand by for a thriller and good luck to the Roughyeds!

ATHLETIC’S price for promotion from League One continues to contract as their unbeaten start to the season shows little sign of ending.

John Sheridan’s men are a best-priced 11-5 (Paddy Power) to be promoted and 8-1 third favourites with Skybet to be crowned champions.

Leeds are the 12-5 jollies to top the table at the end of the season, with Leicester 100-30.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are 11-10 favourites to regain the Premier League crown, with reigning champions Manchester United on 5-2, Arsenal 9-2 and Liverpool 9-1.

And Manchester City, fresh from their 6-0 mauling of Portsmouth, have been cut to 66-1 for title glory, having started the season at 500-1.

LIKE many other pundits, I got the Ryder Cup badly wrong.

America, for whom Paul Azinger proved an inspirational captain, were worthy winners and are 11-8 chances to triumph again at Celtic Manor in Wales in 2010.

Europe are the evens favourites, with the tie at 10-1.

Jose Maria Olazbal is the 9-4 favourite with Skybet to be the next European captain, while Corey Pavin is the 7-2 market leader with the same firm in the market for the USA’s next leader.

INDIA and Australia, bitter cricketing rivals Down Under last winter, lock horns again on Indian soil in a couple of weeks’ time.

And it’s the home side who are favourites to overcome an Aussie side in transition following the retirement of several star players.

India are 11-8 to come out on top in the three-Test series starting on October 9, with the tourists 13-8 and the draw 4-1.

STRICTLY Come Dancing is in its early stages, but former rugby union player Austin Healey has already shown enough flair on the ballroom floor to prompt the bookies to make him the 7-2 favourite to win the title.

The rather attractive (to put it mildly!) Rachel Stevens is 4-1 along with with Tom Chambers, then there’s a big gap to 10-1 shots Lisa Snowden and Christine Bleakley.
