CARLOS TEVEZ has distanced himself from claims that he is not happy at Manchester United.
The Argentina striker has scored just once this season and had reportedly suggested his form had been affected because of the work he has to do for the team.
However, a statement issued by Tevez said: “I love playing in the Premier League and I am very happy at Manchester United. I want to help the team win and am not worried where I play on the pitch. I have absolutely no idea where the reports came from.”
The Reds are reported to have watched Spanish under-21 international keeper Sergio Asenjo, who plays for Valladolid, six times this season as they search for a long-term replacement for veteran Edwin van der Sar.
CITY are set to off-load Equador striker Felipe Caicedo, who cost them £5.2million in January, with Paris St Germain leading the chase.
Manager Mark Hughes has problems as he prepares for Monday’s league game at Newcastle as Robinho (thigh) and Martin Petrov were both hurt in midweek World Cup qualifiers and Argentine right-back Pablo Zabaleta is banned after his dismissal against Liverpool.
Former City winger Kiki Musampa is considering a short-term deal with Blue Square Premier side Wrexham as he tries to attract interest from a Football League club.
