LOCAL golfer Martyn Hamer shot a three-under-par 68 to move back into contention to win a place in the final stage of the European Tour School.
The 23-year-old from Chadderton Fold, who had a disappointing 75 in the opening round, is in a tie for 33rd place at the halfway stage of the four-round event at Arcos Gardens, Jerez, Spain.
The top 20 finishers from Arcos Gardens join the leading players from three other qualifiers for the third stage the week after next which.
That will be over six rounds to determine which 25 players from the 78 finalists will win cards to play on the European Tour.
