MANCHESTER City, humiliated by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, are looking to bring in reinforcements in time for Saturday’s Premier League game at Portsmouth.
City will head to Fratton Park without key players Shaun Wright-Phillips, who is possibly out for one month with a hamstring strain, and the suspended Stephen Ireland.
Manager Mark Hughes, who has already splashed out £12million for Chelsea left-back Wayne Bridge, is now switching his attention to Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz and West Ham midfielder Scott Parker, who will cost £10m and £16m respectively.
Also on City’s radar are Newcastle United ’keeper Shay Given and Arsenal defender Kolo Toure.
