Phoenix pair win call-up

DAVID Beauregard and Kenton Smith have been called up for February’s Elite Ice Hockey League All-Star game.

The Manchester Phoenix duo have been in excellent form this season with the sharp-shooting Beauregard, in particular, catching the eye as he heads the league in points with 67.

Meanwhile, Phoenix have named Unison Northwest as its new headline sponsor.

The club made the move after David McLean went into administration. The building firm was involved in the Altair project to deliver a new rink and retail complex to Altrincham.

That scheme is going ahead but Altair - Phoenix’ previous main sponsor - will continue as an associate of the club.
