OLDHAM town team darts players recorded two wins for Lancashire but were unable to stave off a 19-17 defeat against Essex at Chelmsford in the Inter-Counties Championship.
John Morton had a memorable debut for Lancashire, being named man of the match for his 3-0 victory for the ‘B’ side at an average of 82.31.
Morton, by virtue of his victory, was promoted to the Lancs ‘A’ side the next day when he was unlucky not to make it a weekend double.
Morton was beaten 3-2 by former England international Eddie Gosling having been 2-0 ahead.
Janet Fox was the second local winner, enjoying a 3-0 win for Lancs women ‘B’.
Oldham’s next match in the premier division of the Lancashire GMC Super League is at Blackpool on Sunday, March 1.
