Cardiff Devils leapfrogged Manchester Phoenix in the Elite Ice Hockey League standings after a 4-3 win last night.
In the second of their meetings this week, both sides traded goals but the Devils just had a little more energy on their fifth-placed rivals.
Tony Hand, Bruce Mulherin and Luke Fulghum pulled Phoenix level but Tyson Teplitysky netted Cardiff’s winner.
Kyle Bruce who was given a match penalty for abuse of an official will sit out tomorrow’s away trip to Basingstoke but will be back for the following day's clash against the Newcastle Vipers at 5.30pm in Altrincham.
