A jaded Manchester Phoenix returned to Elite League action last night, but were on the wrong end of a 6-5 penalty shoot-out loss to Hull Stingrays.
Still smarting from their Challenge Cup final defeat in Belfast, Phoenix scored through Adam Walker (2), Lucas Barnett, Bruce Mulherin and David Beauregard’s 57th of the season, but Jeff Glowa notched Stingrays’ shoot-out winner.
Tomorrow, a week of long road trips finally comes to an end when they travel up to Edinburgh (6pm).
On Sunday Phoenix face Belfast at Altrincham in the final of the Knockout Cup (5.30pm) which doubles up as both clubs’ last regular league fixture of the season.
