SHEFFIELD Steelers won back-to-back Elite League Playoff Championships with a tight 2-0 win over Nottingham Panthers yesterday.
A stunning strike from defenceman Steve Munn and an opportunistic back-hand from Ryan Finnerty saw the League Champions to a double in a typically tough, uncompromising encounter.
Meanwhile, Elite League chairman Eamon Convery has said rumours of Manchester Phoenix, Newcastle Vipers and Edinburgh Capitals’ withdrawal from the league are untrue until a league meeting has determined the line-up for next season.
An announcement is expected shortly.
